Download KvSQL

Each archive holds the two KvSQL DB programs, kvsqld (the server) and kvsql (the shell), with the license files and the README. The links always point to the latest release.

System Download
Linux, x86-64 kvsql-linux-x86_64.tar.gz
Linux, ARM64 kvsql-linux-arm64.tar.gz
macOS, Apple silicon kvsql-macos-arm64.tar.gz
macOS, Intel kvsql-macos-x86_64.tar.gz
Windows, x86-64 kvsql-windows-x86_64.zip

Checksums are in SHA256SUMS. Every release is listed on GitHub.

Each of these builds ran the engine’s test suite and a smoke test on its own platform before the release went out: a file opened with the shell, then the server started, written to with curl and read back through the shell.

Install

On Linux or macOS:

tar -xzf kvsql-linux-x86_64.tar.gz
sudo mv kvsql-linux-x86_64/kvsqld kvsql-linux-x86_64/kvsql /usr/local/bin/
kvsqld --version

Check a download first if you like:

sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing

On Windows, unzip the archive and run kvsqld.exe and kvsql.exe from a terminal in that folder.

The Engine as a Library

KvSQL Engine is used from Rust as a Git dependency, pinned to a release tag:

[dependencies]
kvsql-engine = { git = "https://github.com/softdevstudio/kvsql", tag = "v0.1.0" }

It builds with Rust 1.89 or later and needs nothing beyond the standard library. The quick start has a first program.

Build From Source

git clone https://github.com/softdevstudio/kvsql
cd kvsql
cargo build --release

The binaries land in target/release/. To run every test and record the results the way the project does, run bash scripts/record-results.sh.
